Approach and Philosophy

A fresh approach creating websites with an emphasis on details and usability.

Formally trained as a traditional graphic designer, around 1998 I became very interested in web and interactive design. Turning my knowledge of print design around to the web early on has given me years of experience designing and developing websites the right way.

I was an early adopter of CSS and Web Standards—check my code, it’s as clean as it gets. This, as well as, strong typography, adhering to a grid, and caring for small details are what make my work stand out.

CopyZen

CopyZen is a portfolio website designed and built for a NYC copywriter, Josh Cohen, who asked for a sleek, modern way to showcase his copywriting work. The site validates 1.0 Strict and uses jQuery to slide through his work samples.

Joe Neubert Collision Centers

A small-business website designed and developed a few years ago in conjunction with an ad agency, Low+Tritt. Google maps was incorporated to help users find their nearest location. A nice testimonial section helps users decide to use Joe Neubert's.

ShortcutZen

An upcoming side project focusing on application shortcuts, tips, tutorials, resources and more. Many of the Adobe applications will be featured as well as PHP, CSS, jQuery, Microsoft Office and anything else we or the end users can think of. (Hopefully launching in April/May)

Zwas Group

While working at MSDS I helped design this site and built the entire front-end. The elegant typography and strong grid are design fundamentals MSDS thrives and pleases clients with. The site loads quickly thanks to minimal and straightforward CSS and XHTML code.
